Half a century of modernity

BrittonBritton has been trusted with the commission of designing and producing the anniversary book for the 50-year celebration of Stockholm’s great Modern Museum.

In the stiffest competition, BrittonBritton was chosen already last spring for the honorable and highly challenging commission of designing and producing the book in celebration of the half-century anniversary of one of the world’s most esteemed museums for contemporary art, Stockholm’s Moderna museet (Modern Museum), celebrated in 2008.

The book, which of course will be a hefty affair, produced in separate Swedish and English language editions, applies a very broad scientific perspective to the fascinating history of the famous museum, in a series of articles by Swedish and international authors and scientists, on subjects such as the development of the collection, the museum as a scene, Moderna museet and Marcel Duchamps, and so much more. Artists Marysia Lewandowska and Neil Cummings will also contribute an ”artistic intervention”. The planned time of release is April 2008.

We need hardly mentioned that we`re most proud and happy for this exciting commission!

PS: If you can’t wait to read abot the museum’s great history — see text archive! DS.
