Claes Britton contributes painfully personal text to the book Liv (Life) by Ingela Klemetz Farago and Peter Farago.

On 15 october it was released at a grand cocktail party in the atrium at the NK department store here i Stockholm, our dear friends’ Ingela Klemetz Farago and Peter Farago’s much publicized book Liv (Life), with fashion portraits of some 83 famous Swedish women from a wide variety of fields, the likes of Lena Olin, Bibi Andersson, Paulina Parizkova, Robyn, Tatjana Patitz, Britt Ekland, Maud Adams, Amanda Ooms, Izabella Scorupco and Neneh Cherry among them. The book is published for the benefit of The Cancer Foundation’s Rosa Bandet (Pink Ribbon) campaign.

In the book, Claes Britton has contributed a painfully personal text about his mother Mona Britton’s dramatic suffering and death in cancer two years ago. On 19 October, Sweden’s leading daily Dagens Nyheter published an extensive outtake from the text, which evoked extremely powerful reactions.

”I’ve worked as a journalist, editor, copywriter and author for 23 years, but never experienced anything near this,” says Claes Britton. ”It’s amazing how the text has reached out to people. When I hear from people who have gone through similar experiences and who say that the text has made them feel comforted and strengthened, then I feel that my work has meaning and that all the tremendous strains it took to write the text were worth while manifold.”

Frederik Lieberath has contributed black and white still lives to the book, which is designed by Boris Bencic. Liv is published by Farago Publishing and available to order from adlibris.com and other retailers.
