Carolus Linnaeus up on the web

| Apr 19, 2006 | 0 comments

BrittonBritton and AGoodID will produce the official website for the upcoming 300-year anniversary of Sweden's world-famous, groundbreaking botanist and natural scientist Carl von Linné (in English frequently referred to as Carolus Linnaeus).

BrittonBritton and AGoodID have proudly accepted the honorable and challenging commission of producing the official theme website for next year's 300-year anniversary of Sweden's great botanist and nature scientist Carl von Linné (Carolus Linnaeus), one of the greatest Swedes of all times, who revolutionized our knowledge of the world with his classification system for plants, based on their sexuality. Linné is in many ways considered one of the most important predecessors of Darwin, no less. The website will of course feature his own fascinating story, but primerely focus on Linné's great heritage in comtemporary Swedish frontline sciences such as botany, geneology and gene technology, echology and more. It's commissioned by The Swedish Institute and will be launched on Sweden's official website www.sweden.se in the beginning of 2007. The commission also includes a multimedia presentation and a portable exhibition that will tour the world. Though we're still in an early phase of the creative process, we already dare to promise an exciting and attractive visual and intellectual experience.

”Before the age of 23, I had thought out everything.”
- Carl von Linné (Carolus Linnaeus)
