Answers to questions about our Sweden-film

| Oct 18, 2007 | 0 comments

We’ve been asked many questions and encountered quite a few wrongful assumptions about how our official Swedish image film Sweden — Open Open Skies, Open Minds — is produced technically.. Therefore, we will take the opportunity to answer some of these questions once and for all.

The film consists of 100 percent unique material, photographed exclusively for the film with a vintage 16-millimeter Arri Flex camera (without ref monitor) by a crew of two (2), Claes Britton and Peter Farago, the film’s directors (the latter of course also its cinematographer).

While some of Sweden’s hottest contemporary models (Elsa Hosk, Madeleine Blomberg, Leona Axelsson, Anja Chorabik, Linnea Hellbom, and others) do appear in the film, the vast majority — probably around 90 percent — of the participating ”actors” were street-casted, alas they were people we happened to meet at the numerous locations we visited along our long film journey, quite simply. Thus, the argument posted by some, all Swedes of course, that we’re presenting a ”glamourized” image of Sweden, is hard to understand. Sweden and the Swedes are indeed every bit as beautiful as this!

The music is composed uniquely for the film by Christian Olsson of Swedish band Fläskkvartetten, inspired by roughly assembled images from the film, and has then directed the final editing. The film is edited by Marcus Lindqvist, who has previously worked with director Johan Renck, among others, notably editing several of Madonna’s videos.

Our Sweden-film will soon be available on DVD. Our commission also includes 60 minutes of ”stock-shot” material — images that will be available free of charge to Sweden-promoting authorities, institutions and corporations, as well to international media. Once the DVD and the stock-shot material is finalized, the film will be launched internationally.
