Gärdet in Stockholm, very near my home, early October morning

Stockholm, November 08

And so another pair of months have passed, just like that, hectic and storming with emotions, as I find myself sitting here yet again, weeding out this computer and cell phone of mine in the tradition of my herring fishing ancestors, looking out over the nocturnal horizons of Lidingö and Djurgården and the flashing lights of the Nacka masts and the mighty Kaknäs tower.

Making good of my new found habit, as the blogger that I am, this Mark of Cain, I will share with you a few more blurry cell phone images.

The first is an early morning view from very near my home in Gärdet here in Stockholm, snapped in the beginning of the past glorious month of October. You may say what you will about this town, but it's quite remarkable to live in an intenational metropolis, just five minutes from the city's dead center, where you can come across vistas like this within just a couple of minutes' powerwalk.

The second is from the terrace of my dear father's new home right in the thick of that dead center of this city, overlooking Sveavägen boulevard and the Hötorget square, with a classic junkie shooting stairway and the famous Curt H:son porn establishment just below. You won't get more urban living for your dollar anywhere in these latitudes.

Finally, in remembrance of the summer vanished, I can't resist to post, once again, an early June morning panorama over the Jungfrufjärden bay from the jetty at my summer house, with the trusty 20-horsepower Yamaha on my sturdy old Sun Buster in the forground, this seasoned veteran pair which together survived its 24th season this past summer. Before long, I will post a proper full-size epic of this heroic vessel in this column

PS. A few days later, on the sixth of November, the morning after the historic victory, of course I can’t resist adding this view from my balcony with the morning fog dispersing over the Gärdet fields. Stockholm and Barack forever, Gar! DS.
